Florence Minz
Senior Partner

Florence is a Senior Partner in our Toronto office specializing the in not-for-profit area, with a focus on the arts sector. She has extensive experience in organizational governance.

Before joining Searchlight, Florence held a series of leadership positions on several boards. She was chair of the board of the Royal Conservatory of Music from 2004 to 2009 and was intimately involved with the transformation of that institution. She was a director of the Toronto Symphone from 2003 to 2008, and a director of the Stratford Festival from 2012 to 2014.

Florence was appointed by the federal cabinet to Chair the Board of Governors of the Canadian Museum of Nature through a transition, from 2010 to 2012.

As a director of Opera Atelier, she helped the company through its start-up to become a major performing arts organization in Toronto.

She has been a member of the Ryerson Image Centre Advisory Board since 2009.

In addition, Florence served as a member of the University of Toronto’s Governing Council for two terms, and as a director of St. Michael’s Hospital from 2001 to 2010. She has been Chair of the Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care.

Previously, she was a director and chair of a number of agencies in children’s mental health, including Oolagen, and Voices for Children. She was a provincially appointed member of the Mustard McCain Early Years Task Force.

Florence has 30-years of experience working in intensive community leadership positions. She was also a management consultant internationally, and worked in a line management position.

She was an Executive Recruiter from 1985 to 1994 and since then has chaired and participated in numerous Search Committees.
